Establishing session control

Table 4–7 lists the methods an application uses to manage session control.

Table 4–7: Setting session methods 

Method	Description
startReceiveMessages procedure	Starts receiving messages after creating a new session or after calling stopReceiveMessages procedure.
stopReceiveMessages procedure	Causes the SonicMQ Broker to stop receiving messages on behalf of the 4GL client and to stop sending messages already received by the SonicMQ Broker for the 4GL client.
deleteSession procedure	Closes a session and its underlying connection and deletes the session procedure.
getConnectionID function	Returns the AppServer connection ID.
